My experience in Continuous Ink Supply System in Epson C90 printer

My wife and I bought an Epson Stylus C90 with Durabrite Ink last year 2008 which we used for our digital printing business in our computer shop. We decided to convert it to CISS because the ink is much cheaper and with these system it can print as many photos and documents compared to the regular cartridge.

We were able to have the CISS installed at a store near to our place in Monumento, Caloocan City and the charge is cheaper compared to the other shops. The warranty of the printer when converted to CISS will automatically be void because of the installation but the one who installed the CISS will give you a service warranty for one or three months depending on their policy.

I can say that my computer shop earned a lot from the digital photo printing almost everyday there are customers for the photo printing. The Epson Stylus C90 printer with CISS works fine in a few months but I have noticed that the quality of prints in the photo paper has some ink blots at the back or sides. I found out that there is a formation of waste inks inside the printer so I cleaned it with a cloth but still the printing quality displayed ink blots on the photo paper back and sides. The printer later on malfunctions that we have to repeatedly clean and arrange the CISS that was attached to it.

After that year we close our computer shop business and the Epson C90 with CISS printer was stock in the house. Even we tried to clean and repeatedly arrange the CISS,  the printer won't work. My wife even tried to open the mechanical parts, clean it and also installed a printer resetter for that model but it did not work. We research and we found out that the one who installed the CISS did not create a waste tank on the printer that is why there is a formation of inks that were stock inside the printer resulting to have some blots in the photo paper.

Currently the printer is still not working but we already plan to bring it to a different printer store which is InkNovation. According to their repair center, there is a diagnostic fee of Php200 when the computer is not fix but the repair fee of Php600 if it is fix. This will be our last option before we put the printer to junk. The Inknovation pritner repair services contact number is 4372697 with office address at 714 EDSA, Brgy. Rodriguez, Cubao, Quezon City (North Bound beside Uratex).

I will post my update here for the status of the repair if it is successful.

What is the printer brand and model that you use good for CISS? Please share it here thanks.
